The most common areas for T1-11 to fail are the vertical seams where the sheets meet and the top and bottom edges where they usually don't get primed and painted.

A mirror can be helpful for inspecting the bottom edge of the panels for the beginnings of delamination, mold or rot.

What happens when you move furniture over carpet tiles, like a bed for example? Do the tiles stay in place or do the pop out of place?

You hit some great points on carpet tile. If you're a DIYer carpet tiles may be the ticket. However if you want a seamless look, broadloom carpet may be the look you want. Keeping in mind that seams can show there too (most broadloom is 12 ft wide).
Consider your room's style, use, and your budget, then consider what will be best for you. Remember to always go with what you like, 'cause you'll have to live with it.

I think cheap quality carpet tile is the way to go. I have found carpet tile starting at 29 cents a square foot. With that price you can carpet a 200 square foot space for under $60 plus have extra tiles for replacement.

Great, I am researching the flooring at the moment and thinking to go to costco and grab some. It is on sale for $25 a box now, just wasn't shure how it is quality wise.

I have a question. I would like to know if I would be able to cut the pad-attached flooring with a laminate floor cutting tool. I do not like power tools and would like to use one. Do you recommend a particular brand or type of cutting tool?

Great! and improved Nice ... Harmonics laminate flooring has grown in popularity. This is mainly due to installing the laminates and of caring for the flooring as well.

I totally agree, these types of wood floors look so nice. Sounds like it would cost a lot of money though. :)
