Marble Tiles: Advantages and Uses
Marble tile comes in multiple colors such as black, white, grey, blue, and beige. Black marble tile is one of the most commonly used. It is very commonly used as kitchen countertops because of the ease of cleaning and the exquisite look it brings to the room. The black color provides a very classy appearance and can be combined with other colored tiles, either neutral or white. While black polishes up to a brilliant shine, it will show dust and dirt easier than other colors such as white. White marble is also very common. It is a great color: it stays looking very clean and radiant, and it is great to put with other colors that are bright or neutral. While black is harder to keep looking clean, cleaning the stone tiles is very easy. Just having warm, soapy water and a sponge will clean the tile very well. There are special stone cleaners you can purchase if desired as well.
Another popular choice for tile is a tumbled marble tile. Tumbling the marble creates a different look than the regular tiles because of how it is made. Tumbling involves taking broken pieces of tiles, then placing them into a tumbler that has an abrasive that smooths the surface and edges of the pieces. As the tumbler continues to slowly rotate, the pieces continue to be smoothed out. Tumbled marble is commonly used as back-splashes in the kitchen and bathroom, flooring, and outside for landscaping in your garden or a patio. Tumbling gives the tile a more antique look, and is a great way to accent other tiles being used. With these many choices in color, finish, and sizes, it’s easy to find something you would love to come home to every day.
